Carol Service

      What a wonderful way to end our Autumn Term - a coming together of our whole school community at St Mary's Church.  Well done to everyone who took part in this year's Carol Service, especially to those girls who retold the story of the Nativity in word and in costume, and to our staff and Vocalise choirs.

Achievements celebrated! 🏆

      In our final assembly of 2023, Mrs Fowler reminded us that the Autumn Term is the longest term of the year, and thanked both staff and pupils for their RESILIENCE and POSITIVITY.

      This was also an opportunity to celebrate examples of EXCELLENCE across the year groups, with girls recognised for their individual achievements in mental maths, and their collective efforts in earning house points.

      Congratulations to Bolton, winners of the House Cup for the first full term of the academic year!

Excellence afloat! 🏊

      Thank you - and wow - to sisters Alice and Florence who showcased their artistic swimming skills to Years 5 and 6 last Friday.  Having recently featured in the television show, Meet the Experts, the girls proudly performed a routine choreographed for them by Great Britain Olympians Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe - and it was fantastic to see!

      Afterwards - assisted by the girls' coach, Sally Poon -  their classmates had a go themselves.  What a memorable final lesson for the year!

      You can see the episode of the girls meeting Kate and Isabelle below:

Now that our Sports Hall redevelopment project is complete, we are once again able to sign out all Key Stage 2 pupils from the Junior Playground at the end of each day - we hope this will be more convenient for parents.  Please note, from January:

Years 4 and 5 - collect from the east end of the playground, near the Sports Hall (can be accessed via the new ramp).

Year 6 - collect from the west end of the playground, near the Junior Hall (access via the steps).

Girls uncollected by 15:50 will continue to be signed into After School Club, for which a charge may apply.

Lace Market Carol Service

Mrs Keys and Mr Rolfe

* Thursday 21 December, 1pm *

      The Lace Market Carol Service is a short but beautiful church service for people who live or work in the city centre, with some musical items by our very own Year 5 and Year 6 Vocalise choir.  Our annual commitment to this event - which always takes place during the first few days of the Christmas break - is just one way in which our school contributes towards community life, even outside of term time.

      Junior School parents and supporters are most welcome at this 40-minute service, after which refreshments provide an opportunity to socialize and network.
